About NED.ED

People have an idea of who you are. You have one too.

Your reputation. Your achievements. Your standards. Your place among your people. NED.ED believes there’s nothing wrong with showing up like you believe all of it.

Woven stripe fabric in ochre, indigo, cream and oxblood.

Our story

You’re already the man. Dress accordingly.

NED.ED makes bespoke agbada, kaftans, suits and two-piece sets for men with something to be proud of. Men who care about how they show up, because they know what they represent.

Some of them want to command the room. Some want to quietly look like they belong in it. Some want attention; others simply expect things to be done properly. What connects them isn’t an aesthetic. It’s a sense of self.

We don’t only dress for how we see ourselves. We dress knowing what we represent to other people: the friend everyone calls Boss, the one people ask for recommendations, the man his family looks up to. Those perceptions become part of who we are. There is pride in showing up like you believe them too.

Our belief

The clothes don’t make the man.

The man gives the clothes something to live up to.

Clothing doesn’t give a man significance. His life does that: his character, his achievements, his reputation, his relationships, his standards, his sense of himself.

We just believe he should dress accordingly. Not to become “the man”. Because he already is.

How we work

The man before the clothes.

Start with him.

  • His personality.
  • His reputation.
  • His contradictions.
  • His standards.
  • His occasion.
  • His intended effect.

Then make the clothes worthy of him.

    We listen

Before a single sketch, we want to know who you are, where you’re going and how you want it to land. What does simple mean to you? How much attention is enough?

  2. 02

    We design

Silhouette, fabric, embroidery and detail are chosen to match the man, not a trend. We don’t impose an idea of who you should be.

  3. 03

    We fit

Fit is where good clothes become yours. We measure properly, adjust carefully and keep going until it sits the way it should.

  4. 04

    You enjoy it

Then you wear it. If anyone asks whether you’re the chairman, that’s between you and them.

Where we’re going

Self-regard is something to enjoy, not apologise for.

Contemporary African menswear already competes on creativity and quality, and it should. NED.ED wants to add a point of view: that the most interesting thing about a garment is the man inside it.

So we will keep making agbada, kaftans and tailoring that take their heritage seriously and their wearer more seriously still. Clothes that live up to the man, for men who know who they are, what they represent and aren’t afraid to dress like it.

We start with you. The clothes come second.

Tell us who you are, where you’re going and how you want it to land. We’ll take your idea of yourself seriously, then make something worthy of it.

What we’ll ask

  1. 01What do you want from this piece?
  2. 02What does simple mean to you?
  3. 03What does “leader” look like on you?
  4. 04How much attention is enough?
